It is the 101st anniversary since the installation of the world’s first set of traffic lights, and internet search engine Google has released a special doodle to mark the occasion. Meanwhile to celebrate, those little lit-up dudes you see at pedestrian crossings decided to have a big ruckus.
The first red and green lights were installed in Cleveland, Ohio in the United States, on August 5, 1914. The original design though came from a Salt Lake City, Utah policeman named Lester Wire. He came up with the idea in 1912.
