The eco-taxi

Withstanding the irony of driving a car belching out toxic fumes, the Eco-Taxi driver of Russia loved the environment and maintained a low opinion of litterbug passengers.

Uber launching flying cars in 2020 🚀

We wanted flying cars, all we got was a Chrome extension that blocks tweets longer than 140 characters.

Taxi firm Uber, which has a food delivery arm, is planning to branch out into flying cars by 2020. The company announced an on-demand fully electric vertical takeoff and landing flying car service that looks like it’s straight out of The Jetsons.

No more Uber in London?

I’m an on-and-off customer of Uber, and yesterday I learnt that my city’s transport authority had decided not to renew the app’s licence to ply its trade on our streets. It’s too early to say what will happen next, but I really don’t want to lose my cheap fares and quick-as-a-flash cab ordering doohickeys.

Vijay’s classic GIFs 2007-2011 – 255

A GIF celebrating former US president Barack Obama’s arrival at the White House in 2009. Someone managed to cleverly attach Obama’s face to the body of Will Smith in the opening credits of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Possibly those not happy with America’s current choice of president might look at this GIF a tad nostalgically.

New Uber rider

Yesterday night I used new taxi service Uber for the very first time from my mother’s house in Seven Kings (the birthplace of Gifville) to my home in Plaistow. My driver was a man named Muhammed who drove a Ford Galaxy. It was really fast, with the driver arriving at my Mum’s in only 3 minutes, plus I got a free ride thanks to my sister and only had to pay less than £2 extra.

Uber sent me an email with this cool GIF, and if any of you wish to use the service, you get a free ride on me with this promo code: VIJAYS10328UE (valid up to £10, if your trip costs more you get a straight £10 discount).
