Vijay, it’s coming… 10x Nectar points weekend

 

 

Well, in fact by now the 10X Nectar Points Weekend has already come and gone. From the 26 to the 28 May Bank Holiday weekend, British supermarket Sainsbury’s offered people the chance to collect ten times the normal rate of points on their Nectar loyalty cards for shopping or petrol purchases.

Ironically, it is in summer, especially when it’s really hot, that my appetite sometimes takes a hit. I mean, when the thermometer is a tall red line, close to bursting, it’s just too stuffy to really eat a meal. Dinner becomes a mere side salad above a snack. Biryani – my landlord loves it

 

For dinner I had some leftover Quorn biryani my Mum made. My soon to be ex-landlord, who is hogging the shared kitchen as always, spots me with the container of our family national dish, and confides in me that biryani is his favourite. He puts prunes in his one. Go figure.
