UK General Election June 2017

Today is voting day. It’s time to choose the destiny of this country for the next five years. Make an effort, go to your polling station and have your say. And yes, some politicians will certainly feel rejected after today.

Double Spiral Zoom – Sacred Geometry

This animation resembles the actual artwork more than the other manipulations I’ve created from this piece. The logarithmic spirals that emanate from the center allow me to smoothly animate this mixed media piece. The original piece was created using Pencil, Ink, and colored pencils.

Metatron’s Cube: Zoom – Sacred Geometry

When animating my pieces I always get new ideas and new perspectives. I had the idea to use the new zooming method I used on the last few gifs and apply it to my “Metatron’s Cube” painting. The original is 16” x 20” ink, acrylic, and colored pencil on paper. Check out my website for my new gallery of paintings!

Sunflower Burst: Zoom 1 – Sacred Geometry

I used my original piece “Purple Sunflower Burst” to make this gif. I first established the golden ratio spiral pattern in pencil then I added ink. After that I painted with acrylic in many thin layers called glazes. This infinite zoom shows the multiple levels of spirals that can be interpreted when the spheres are arranged to approximate the golden ratio.

Flower of Life II: Shift – Sacred Geometry

This color shifting GIF features an ink and colored pencil piece. The flower of life is woven from a web of identical circles; it defines simple ratios geometrically as well as more complex numbers such as √2, √3, and √5.

Seed of Life Zoom – Sacred Geometry

The fifth in our February 2016 series of GIFs by artist Ansel Bickerton.

Use a compass to draw a circle. Next put the stationary point on any point on the circle and draw another circle. This will cross the original circle at two points. Repeat at these new points. If you proceed to walk the compass around the circle you will get this flower – or seed, for this is the seed of life, which begets the flower of life which begets the fruit of life and so on. All beautiful sacred geometry archetypes. This piece was originally acrylic, ink, and colored pencil.

Flower of Life XIII – Sacred Geometry

Each .gif originates from a mixed media painting (acrylic, ink, and colored pencil) from my most recent set of ten flower of life paintings. By shifting the colors I feel as though these really breathe.
