Art City – Istanbul

 

 

An art installation by Erdal Inci in Istanbul, Turkey. Named ‘Light Dome’, it was a FHD video and light project commenced in 2014 by Inci. In the background is the Kılıç Ali Paşa Mosque and the Tophane fountain, old Ottoman landmarks of the city.

Memorial Day 2017

 

I hope our American readers had a very good and rested Memorial Day weekend. Regardless of where you are from, always honour those who gave their lives for your country/freedom.

Once the laptop started running the byte-to-atom programme, the office went quiet as the crystal orb pulsated into view. Finally the boundary between the virtual and physical had been blurred.

The dark crystal

 

Just now finished watching the film The Dark Crystal (1982). With its Gelflings, Mystics and Skekses, peculiar creatures, lightness and darkness, and a grotesque rocky castle, this old GIF from the decade afterwards is strikingly resonant.
