I used one of my pen and ink pieces to create this. By overlapping a spiral on top of the spiral I already drew I was able to create this interesting animation.

Square Root of 2 Swirl Zoom – Sacred Geometry

 

The ninth in our February 2016 series of GIFs by artist Ansel Bickerton.

I used the square root of two and a binary sequence of radial divisions to craft an ink piece for this animation. This piece is inspired by sacred geometry as well as op art.
