Luthi, a.k.a. Meredith, is one of the coolest Gifville residents. She single-handedly opened up a Blinkie factory, that is now one of the town’s biggest employers.

It is amazing what power a name can have. On one hand, it is just an assortment of sounds and syllables, but then it is a cornerstone of our individual identities.

A GIF I made from a cool website that allows you to enter your name into a premade greetings web page, where it is magically transformed into colour-shifting 3D letters. A little New Year’s gift GIF from me to you, dear reader.

As some of the regulars here may be aware, for the past few months I have been learning coding with the help of online code school Codecademy. Today marks the completion of their Learn HTML course. Now I’ve started a fun project/mini-course using JavaScript to produce a funky little animation of my name where the little circles move aside when you roll your mouse over it. The GIF above, from a Codecademy email, shows what the final result could look like.

As much as it sounds cool to believe, no I haven’t suddenly jumped from being a blogger to becoming a Tamil film superstar. But this GIF shot of the opening credits of a ‘mass’ blockbuster are in honour of Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar, who is considered one of the ‘gods’ of South Indian cinema, so at least I have a little claim to fame by name association!

Recently I visited the website PicGifs.com, which offers a wide selection of pre-Tumblr animated GIFs for free use. They have this cool glitter text generator where you can transform a word into a GIF from a choice of fancy ABCs. I put my name through the GTG and these guys came out.

The last of the 3 (Three) mobile internet wallpaper GIFs I made with my name back in 2007. This one is the liveliest of the lot, with a racing car shooting past while ‘VIJAY’ goes scarpering in the opposite direction!
