Under the sea… they use waterproof paints on their eggs. How do they get the chickens underwater to lay them though? A great Easter mystery, perhaps?

This weekend, I’ve been looking at my next phone for the following two years. I’m now due for an upgrade with my mobile provider, EE. After much research, I’m heavily leaning towards getting the Huawei P20 Pro, which was one of the hottest phones of 2018. I’m looking to develop my photography, and this phone seems the most promising in terms of camera specs. The rest of the phone is pretty good too. The GIF above features a Huawei stablemate released this year: the P smart.

On April 2 (this coming Tuesday) Google+, one of our six ‘official suppliers’ of quality GIFage will be shuttered. It’s being closed down due to lack of enough user interest. At Gifville, I am proud of the several years of amazing and eclectic GIFs that Google+ introduced me to, and the quirky and fascinating individuals who +1’ed them. Today will be the last day that I will be working with Google+ as a source before the shutdown. Farewell Google Plus, thanks for making Gifville what it is. I’m forever indebted to you.

This year marks the transition from the Year of the Dog to that of the Pig, the last animal in the cycle of 12 that represent each year in the shēngxiào, or Chinese zodiac. Pigs are considered a sign of prosperity in Asian culture, and those born in the year of the Pig are said to be sincere, good-natured, and honest.
Today’s Doodle also celebrates the ancient tradition of shadow puppetry, which also has a special place in the festivities. This year, people all over the world can Celebrate Lunar New Year and the ancient storytelling art of shadow puppetry with Shadow Art. Users can form one of the twelve zodiac animal hand gestures in front of their camera and the AI system, built with Tensorflow, will play a short clip matching the shadow puppet that’s been made.
