July 2016 heatwave in the UK

Today has been the hottest day this year, with temps reaching 31C (87.8F) here in London and a national maximum of 35C (95F) in some parts of south-east England. I’ve literally been sweltering, although frankly it was not as unbearable for me as 2015’s heatwave was.

Raining…in bloody July!!

Yesterday, a month’s worth of rain fell over London in the space of a few hours, meteorologists say. It was a miracle I managed to get out of the house to do food shopping at all. This month could be well be a contender for the wettest July ever.
