The above GIF depicts a spinning gold dinar issued by the Sultanate of Kelantan in Malaysia, the world’s first modern Islamically-sound bullion coin. The 22 karat coins were issued in 2010, as a way of protecting against inflation often borne by paper money. You could think of it as an Islamic krugerrand.
