Painting gloves

Here’s a brilliant DIY idea. Instead of painting the bars of fences or gates with the sloppiness and dripping paint on the floor that is the brush, why not just put on some thick gloves, dip your hand in the paint and use it to coat the surface of the bars instead. Thank me later.

Animate your design

Here are three reasons you should make your next social media post an animation.

1. They draw the eye
With animation, your designs take on a whole new dimension. Movement grabs a viewer’s attention in a way a static image simply can’t. And in a busy social media feed, that’s a crucial point of difference.

2. They’re favored by social media algorithms
Ahh, the mysterious ways of “the algorithms”. Figuring out how to make the social media algorithms work for, rather than against you, can be headache inducing. Hot tip: posts containing videos and GIFS get higher levels of engagement (those likes and shares that you crave) and are more likely to be featured in your audience’s feed.

3. They’re surprisingly easy to make
They might look fancy, but that doesn’t mean they take hours—or hundreds of dollars—to create.

Miss Khiladi

Last weekend, I mentioned some homemade treats that I was going to share with you all. This is the first. Using a doll wearing an Indian costume I found on the way home from work, I shot a short artsy video with the phone under a Harris shutter filter. I then uploaded the video to a website called EZGIF, where I converted it to GIF format, threw in some text and did a bit of tweaking.

Gifville presents “Miss Khiladi” – the showstopping Bollywood siren. Directed and filmed by Vijay Shah 😛 … PS “Khiladi” means ‘game player’ in Hindi. Let me know what you think?
