Notre Dame de Paris

Yesterday evening the famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France, burned down with significant fire damage to the main structure and spire of the landmark. This is a terrible tragedy and loss to Paris, France and the world. Sad thing to happen, but this could be the beginning of a new Notre Dame.

Iceburns

Despite the cold nature of ice, it is capable of generating friction which leads to heat, and unpleasant holes in the trousers of skiers.

Grenfell Tower tragedy

In the worst residential housing fire in living memory, Grenfell Tower, an apartment block in Kensington, London, was inundated with fire a few days ago. Already 17 people have lost their lives, and an entire community has rallied around to help those who have lost loved ones, homes and everything they have ever known.

Gifville and myself salutes the firefighters, emergency services, and community members who faced tragedy and death to rescue and aid Grenfell Tower residents. This shows how London always pulls together in the darkest hours.

If you wish to donate to those affected, please search “Grenfell Tower charity appeal” or similar in your web browser to find out ways you can help.

Earth – the human problem

Humans have made more changes to Earth’s ecosystems than any other animal. As the most intelligent of Earth’s many lifeforms, we need to be aware of that impact and learn to properly co-exist with our world.
