Today is the 400th death anniversary of one of the UK’s most formidable and influential playwrights, William Shakespeare, who died at the age of 52 on the 23rd April 1616. One of my more enduring memories of studying Shakespeare’s plays was playing a guard in a school drama production of Macbeth.
