Notre Dame de Paris

Yesterday evening the famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France, burned down with significant fire damage to the main structure and spire of the landmark. This is a terrible tragedy and loss to Paris, France and the world. Sad thing to happen, but this could be the beginning of a new Notre Dame.

Shenfield-London Liverpool St. – CANCELLED

I had a spot of bother this morning, getting to work, after my TfL Rail train to Liverpool Street got cancelled at short notice. Apparently the train broke down (meaning it probably didn’t fall off a bridge). Nice start to the Monday, aye guys!

Making a star

.
.
Simulation of star formation by collapse of molecular clouds (2008). The calculation models the collapse and fragmentation of a molecular cloud with a mass 50 times that of our Sun. The cloud is initially 1.2 light-years (9.5 million million kilometres) in diameter, with a temperature of 10 Kelvin (-263 degrees Celsius).
