Some of you may be aware of the incident that occurred this afternoon near the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Bridge. This is shocking for us Londoners, but we are survivors in a beautiful city. We will rise from this. We are not afraid.

From Sunday 8 to Monday 9 January, 2017, station staff working for transport firm TfL in London went on strike, causing major disruption to commuters. I managed to beat the worse of the strike by getting up extra early at 4.30 am, taking a 115 bus to Aldgate and then a Paddington-bound 205 from just outside Aldgate East tube station. I finally reached my office in Euston at around 7.45 am. Not bad. Thank goodness it’s only one day.

To celebrate 2017 and the New Year, I’ve created this holographic effect souvenir GIF celebrating all things London. Just like a hologram or lenticular picture, the image tilts from side to side. Featured highlights include two old Routemaster buses, Tower Bridge, the Queen Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben) and the statue atop Nelson’s Column. The background consists of the Union Flag and Wembley Stadium.
