A virtual reality recreation by artist James Eads and VR Scout, along with SoulPancake. Eads engaged in a project in 2018, turning famous works of art into 3D renditions using powerful and evocative VR technology. The results, I have to say, are quite stunning. This piece entitled ‘The Great Wave’ is based off of the artwork “The Great Wave off Kanagawa”, a woodblock print by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai some time between 1829-33 CE.
