Childhood gaming

 

My first memory of a Nintendo game was in the early 1990s when my Mum’s friend’s partner brought round a game of Super Mario. We were too poor to afford our own console, so it was a great experience for me. Inspired by a conversation with my friend/colleague Sandra about our childhoods.

Despite Uncle Derek still quite hungover from the pina colada marathon he endured at the hotel yesterday, he managed to bring the video camera with him and we shot some amazing sunsets here at South Ocean Beach. It almost felt like an episode of Miami Vice.

Fatal floppy disks. It’s no surprise that these chunky plastic squares full of data and magnetic tape were superseded by the less guillotine-like USB drive and cloud software.
