Sri Yantra Zoom – Sacred Geometry

The eighth in our February 2016 series of GIFs by artist Ansel Bickerton.

The vivid color in this piece is a result of the oil pastels used in the original painting. The Sri Yantra as it is called is an ancient Hindu symbol. In this symbol nine triangles converge to form 43 smaller ones. It is a web that is symbolic of the womb of the universe.

Vijay’s classic GIFs 2007-2011 – 62

A GIF made from a news clip by the American Broadcasting Co. – where a toddler reaches out to touch the family cat, only to get a less-than-friendly response.

Torus Zoom – Sacred Geometry

The seventh in our February 2016 series of GIFs by artist Ansel Bickerton.

Only taking one sitting to be realized, this piece came together so fluidly. It is a mix of acrylic paint, colored pencil, and ink all animated in a way that it grows infinitely from itself. I really liked the infinite zoom effect and had to apply it to this painting!

EU negotiations

Our prime minister David Cameron recently went to Brussels, the heart of the European Union to negotiate some terms for the UK vis-a-vis our relationship with the EU. Meanwhile some people here are going nuts over the ‘Brexit’ debate and forthcoming referendum on continued EU membership. Of particular issue are all these celebrities and politicians emerging with their ten-a-penny opinions about which way we should vote. Stay. Leave. Aaargh!.
